Founded in 2006, the Heritage Transportation Trust is a non-profit organization registered under the Indian Trust Act (1882), dedicated to documenting, exhibiting, and educating the public about transportation.
Fueled by a passion for collecting transportation artifacts, it’s Founder and Managing Trustee created a one-of-a-kind collection. After more than two decades of research, the Heritage Transport Museum was established as India’s first comprehensive transport museum with financial assistance from Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and opened to the public on December 7, 2013.
Located on a three-acre site near National Highway 8 in Tauru-Gurgaon, the museum spans 90,000 square feet across four floors, featuring exhibition galleries, a library, conference rooms, a mini-auditorium, a souvenir shop, and a Cafe. It sets benchmarks in exhibition design and visitor engagement, offering an interactive, family-friendly experience.
To create and manage a dynamic, multi-experiential space that delves into the history of transportation with a focus on India, while serving as a premier resource center for the advancement of transport knowledge and innovation.
To establish and manage a state-of-the-art interpretive and experiential museum actively promoted within the heritage and tourism sectors. To develop curriculum-based partnerships with schools and resource centers, offering research and documentation programs.
To create a dynamic and evolving space by updating museum exhibits annually while staying true to the original themes.
