The Heritage Transportation Trust has raised Rs. 12 crores in grants and donations. The main contributor being the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, which, under its scheme of setting up of new museums has given a grant of Rs. 6 crores. The remaining amount has been raised through corporate and individual donations. For the museum to remain relevant and dynamic, fundraising is an ongoing activity. The corpus of funds would be utilized for the enhancement of the museum and augmentation of museum exhibits.
